How we work out the size
A longer rulebook and more components mean more rules to build and more art to prepare, so each adds points. Add the two together:
| Rulebook (PDF pages) | Points |
|---|---|
| 1–8 pages | 1 |
| 9–20 pages | 2 |
| 21–36 pages | 3 |
| 37–60 pages | 4 |
| Unique components | Points |
|---|---|
| 1–60 | 1 |
| 61–150 | 2 |
| 151–300 | 3 |
| 301–500 | 4 |
Small: 2–3 points; Medium: 4–5 points; Large: 6–8 points. A long rulebook and a lot of components puts a game at the top of the scale.
Unique components: count every different card face, tile, board, and kind of token once (20 copies of one card count as 1; card backs only if they carry rules). Example: a card game with an 8-page rulebook and 72 different cards is 1 + 2 = 3 points, a Small game.
You don't need to count anything. After you order, we count the unique components from your files and show you the breakdown and the price before you pay. If you think we've miscounted, contact us before you pay and we'll look at it with you.
